TMT Motors was established in 1976 as a state transport equipment company and is headquartered in Dong Da district, Hanoi. In January 2023 it signed a partnership with the SGMW joint venture to manufacture and distribute the Wuling HongGuang MiniEV in Vietnam, opening the mini electric car segment in the country. The vehicles are assembled at TMT's factory in Hung Yen province, with an initial annual capacity of 30,000 units.
