TimTay was founded in Ho Chi Minh City in 2014 by sisters Hoang Tu and Hoang Anh, with Hoang Tu leading design and Hoang Anh handling branding and business. The label makes roughly 90 percent of its clothing from linen, along with silk and cotton, favoring natural, biodegradable materials suited to Vietnam's climate. For its Silk 1 collection, TimTay applied a zero-waste cutting technique intended to reduce offcut fabric compared to standard production.
