TBS Group, founded in 1989 in Di An, produces around 25 million pairs of footwear and millions of handbags a year across some 30 factories with about 17,000 employees. Its factories operate under ISO 14001 environmental management, run a wastewater treatment plant handling 1,500 cubic meters per day commissioned in 2014, and use water-based chemicals for 100 percent of handbag and 80 percent of footwear production. Around 150,000 square meters of rooftop solar generates more than 2.5 million kWh a month for its operations.
