Gemadept was founded in 1990 as a state owned company and listed on the Vietnam Stock Exchange in 2002. Headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, the corporation operates ports including Nam Dinh Vu, Gemalink deep sea port and Phuoc Long ICD, alongside air cargo terminals and cold storage facilities. Several of its ports, including Nam Dinh Vu and Gemalink, have received Green Port Standard certification from the Vietnam Maritime Administration, and the company installed a 4.8 MWp rooftop solar project at its Mekong cold storage facility in Can Tho.
