a21studio was founded in 2009 in Ho Chi Minh City by architect Dinh-Toan Nghiem. The practice is best known for Saigon House, built largely from recycled bricks, doors, and windows collected from demolished houses around the city, and for The Chapel community centre, named Building of the Year at the 2014 World Architecture Festival. Its work consistently favors reused and repurposed materials over new ones.
